Poultry Health Is Becoming a Food Security Issue, Not Just a Farm Management Challenge

A healthy poultry flock is no longer important only for farmers. It has become a critical part of maintaining stable food supplies, protecting rural livelihoods, and reducing the economic impact of disease outbreaks. As poultry consumption continues to grow, preventing disease has become just as important as improving production efficiency.

Vaccination is now one of the most effective tools available to poultry producers. Diseases such as Newcastle disease, avian influenza, infectious bronchitis, and infectious bursal disease can spread rapidly through commercial flocks, affecting bird health, productivity, and farm profitability. Rather than responding after an outbreak occurs, poultry producers are increasingly investing in preventive vaccination programs that help maintain flock health throughout the production cycle.
